Cairo, IFC Explore Deeper Collaboration in Mining and Sustainable Infrastructure

Egypt’s Minister of Planning, Rania Al-Mashat, met with Valérie Levkov from the International Finance Corporation (IFC). They talked about working together, especially in mining and important building projects.

Al-Mashat thanked IFC for helping Egypt’s private businesses with $9 billion in support. She said Egypt wants to grow its mining industry by bringing in private companies and learning from IFC’s knowledge.

She said Egypt is working to improve energy, like electricity and clean energy, to bring more investments. She also shared Egypt’s goal of making 42% of electricity from clean energy by 2030, as part of its big plan for climate change by 2050.

Al-Mashat talked about a program called Hafaz. This program helps private companies get advice, support, and money from global partners.

Levkov said the IFC sees Egypt’s mining industry as very important. She said resources like gold, zinc, phosphate, and fertilizers could bring big chances for growth.

The meeting showed Egypt’s plans to grow its industries and work with the IFC to build a better future.
