The British royal family made its first social media post since Prince Harry confirmed his upcoming trip to the UK next month. The Palace shared photos of Queen Camilla on their official social media platforms, formerly known as the Twitter handle and Instagram, updating royal fans about her latest activities.

The post highlighted an event where Queen Camilla hosted the 'Maiden' yacht crew at Clarence House. She congratulated them on their historic win of the Ocean Globe Race, becoming the first-ever all-female crew to achieve such a feat in an around-the-world yacht race.

The 2023-24 Ocean Globe Race (OGR) is a fully crewed, retro race, reminiscent of the 1973 Whitbread Round the World Race, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the original event. Participating teams navigated without modern technology, relying solely on sextants and paper charts.

Fourteen boats embarked on the journey from Cowes, covering over 27,000 nautical miles across four legs via three great Capes, with stops in South Africa, New Zealand, and Uruguay, before returning to the UK. This year's race holds special significance as it marks the 50th anniversary of the first Whitbread Round the World Race.

After 153 days at sea, Maiden made history by clinching victory, becoming the first all-female team to win an around-the-world yacht race.

This social media statement from the royal family coincides with the announcement of Prince Harry's UK trip by the Invictus Games Foundation. The spokesperson mentioned that Prince Harry, along with actor Damian Lewis and members of the worldwide Invictus Community, will join them to mark the occasion.
