British TV Presenter Mosley Discovered Dead on Greek Island Symi

British TV presenter and health advocate, Michael Mosley, 67, has tragically been found dead on the Greek island of Symi. His body was discovered in a rocky area, just meters away from his intended destination, by local officials on Sunday. Mosley had been missing since Wednesday after embarking on a solo walk along a coastal path amidst scorching temperatures.

Deputy mayor Nikitas Grillis confirmed the identification pending formal procedures. Authorities revealed that Mosley's body was found in the area of Agia Marina, north of the village of Pedi, and near the northeast beach of Agios Nikolaos where he began his walk. The discovery was made by Symi Mayor Lefteris Papakalodoukas and others, including state ERT TV journalists, who were filming the area from a vessel.

Mosley's body was found lying face up with his head resting on a rock. The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear, with authorities uncertain whether it was the result of an accident or a sudden illness. The coast guard and firefighters were deployed to the scene, with a coroner en route to conduct further investigations.

Mosley, accompanied by his wife, was last seen alive on Wednesday afternoon. His children arrived on Symi on Friday to aid in the search efforts. Symi, part of the Dodecanese island chain, boasts a population of 2,500 residents and spans approximately 10 miles (16 km) in length.

Mosley gained prominence through appearances on various British television programs, including the BBC series "Trust Me, I'm a Doctor," "The One Show," and ITV's "This Morning." He is renowned for popularizing the 5:2 diet, advocating intermittent fasting.

Dr. Saleyha Ahsan, who worked with Mosley at the BBC, expressed her heartfelt condolences to his family, describing him as someone who truly dedicated himself to his work and served as an inspiration to many.
