US President Joe Biden found himself in another misstep during a private fundraiser, where he inadvertently confused the leaders of North and South Korea, mistakenly referring to Kim Jong Un as the president of South Korea. The incident unfolded during a fundraising event hosted at the home of Indian-American billionaire Vinod Khosla in Silicon Valley, where Biden reportedly garnered over $1.5 million in donations.
During his address, Biden took aim at his predecessor, former President Donald Trump, criticizing Trump's interactions with Kim Jong Un, particularly referencing Trump's infamous "love letters" to the North Korean leader and their meetings during Trump's tenure at the White House.
In a slip of the tongue, Biden quipped about Trump's purported pride in "love letters from South Korean President Kim Jong Un," inadvertently conflating the leaders of the two Koreas.

The fundraiser also witnessed Biden making jests at Trump's expense, recalling Trump's controversial suggestion during the COVID-19 pandemic to inject disinfectants like bleach or rubbing alcohol into the body as a means of protection against the virus. Biden referenced Trump's statement, quipping, "Remember when he was trying to deal with Covid...He suggested just inject a little bleach in your veins. He missed, it all went to his hair!"
This isn't the first time Biden has poked fun at Trump's bleach remark. In previous instances, Biden joked about the chemical "going to his hair," utilizing humor to underscore Trump's controversial statements and actions during his presidency.
Biden's propensity for verbal gaffes and slips has been a recurrent theme, often exploited by his political opponents to question his suitability for the presidency, given his advanced age. Earlier in February, Biden made headlines for mistakenly referring to French President Emmanuel Macron as former leader Francois Mitterrand, who passed away nearly three decades ago. Additionally, he inadvertently promoted his own vice president, Kamala Harris, to his position by addressing her as "President Kamala Harris" in another blunder.
Such missteps have fueled ongoing debates about Biden's fitness for office, with critics pointing to these instances as evidence of his purported cognitive decline. Despite the criticisms, Biden continues to navigate the challenges of the presidency, albeit under heightened scrutiny for his verbal slips and fumbles.
