Biden's Gaffe Calls Kim Jong Un President of South Korea

During a private fundraiser at Indian-American billionaire Vinod Khosla's Silicon Valley residence, US President Joe Biden made a verbal slip-up, mistakenly referring to Kim Jong Un, the leader of North Korea, as the president of South Korea. Biden's comments came as he criticized his political adversary, former President Donald Trump, for his interactions with the North Korean leader during his tenure in the White House.

Addressing the audience, Biden mentioned Trump's alleged pride in receiving "love letters" from the North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un, but inadvertently attributed the correspondence to the president of South Korea.

The fundraiser reportedly garnered over $1.5 million in donations for the Democratic candidate's campaign.

Biden took aim at Trump's controversial remarks during the COVID-19 pandemic, including the suggestion of injecting disinfectants like bleach or rubbing alcohol into the body as a means of combating the virus. He quipped about Trump's infamous bleach remark, humorously implying that the chemical had affected Trump's hair.

This isn't the first time Biden has made verbal missteps. In February, he mistakenly referred to French President Emmanuel Macron as former leader Francois Mitterrand, who passed away nearly three decades ago. Additionally, he once mistakenly promoted his own deputy, Vice President Kamala Harris, to his own position, addressing her as "President Kamala Harris."

Biden's tendency for verbal gaffes has been a subject of scrutiny by his political opponents, who question his fitness for office due to his age. However, supporters argue that occasional verbal slip-ups are not indicative of his ability to effectively lead the country.
