Beyoncé Urges Support for Kamala Harris at Campaign Rally: "Time for America To

Superstar Beyoncé brought star power to Kamala Harris's White House campaign on Friday, as the vice president and her rival Donald Trump rallied voters with just 11 days remaining before a tight election. Performing in Houston, Texas—Beyoncé’s hometown—she shared the stage with her Destiny's Child co-star Kelly Rowland and energized a crowd of over 20,000 supporters.

“It’s time for America to sing a new song,” Beyoncé declared, urging voters to make their voices heard. Although she did not perform any of her famous hits, her presence drew significant attention to the rally, which focused on the pressing issue of abortion rights in states with restrictive laws.

Beyoncé explained that she was there not merely as a celebrity, but as “a mother who cares deeply about the world… a world where we have the freedom to control our bodies.” This sentiment resonated strongly with the crowd, as Harris highlighted the urgency of the election and its implications for women's reproductive rights.

While Texas may not be a key battleground state, Harris is hoping that her star-studded rally—also featuring 91-year-old country legend Willie Nelson—will galvanize her supporters as the campaign enters its final week. “Voting has already started, and we know this will be a tight race until the very end,” Harris stated. “We are 11 days out from an election that will decide the future of America, including the freedom of every woman to make decisions about her own body.”

The atmosphere was charged with political tension as Trump simultaneously campaigned in Austin, Texas, where he recorded an episode of a popular podcast. His follow-up rally in battleground Michigan was delayed due to the length of the podcast taping.

Earlier on the same day, Harris and Trump exchanged sharp words over allegations that he is running a “fascist” campaign. The vice president referenced claims made by Trump’s former chief of staff, asserting that Trump is unfit to serve. In response, leaders criticized Harris for her comments, suggesting she was inciting violence against Trump following an assassination attempt he survived in July.

Half of the nation appears to agree with Harris's characterization, according to a recent poll. Harris defended her statements, emphasizing that many close to Trump have acknowledged the threat he poses to American democracy. "The truth is that some of the people closest to Donald Trump, when he was president, have been very clear about the danger and the threat that he poses to America, and the fact that he is unfit to serve," she asserted.

In Austin, Trump made controversial remarks, describing the United States as a “garbage can for the world” and criticizing the length of election cycles, claiming they lead to “bad things.” He also accused Harris of ignoring victims of migrant crime during her Texas visit, framing his critiques around the issue of immigration.

As the election approaches, both candidates are trying to broaden their appeal, often avoiding traditional media in favor of podcasts popular with younger voters. Trump aims to connect with the massive audience of the podcast he appeared on, which had over 17.5 million subscribers.

Harris, on the other hand, is focusing her campaign on abortion rights, calling it a healthcare crisis fueled by Trump's policies. “Texas, what is happening across this state and our country is a health care crisis, and Donald Trump is the architect of it,” she declared, highlighting stories of women forced to seek medical care outside their home states due to restrictive laws. She warned that under a Trump-led national abortion ban, “no one is protected.”

The upcoming presidential election will be the first since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned nationwide protections for abortion in 2022, making the stakes even higher for both candidates as they appeal to voters' values and rights.
