Barack Obama, the former President of the United States, recently shared that being the President for two terms caused stress in his marriage to Michelle Obama. Speaking at an event at Hamilton College, Obama admitted that he is working hard to fix things and make up for lost time with his wife. He said he has been spending more quality time with Michelle and doing fun activities together.

For the past few months, there have been rumors that Barack and Michelle might get divorced. These rumors grew stronger when Obama went alone to the funeral of former President Jimmy Carter. People also noticed that Michelle wasn’t with him during Donald Trump's inauguration in January.

During the college event, Hamilton College's president, Steven Tepper, asked Obama about his life after leaving the White House. Obama, now 63 years old, said he has mostly been working on writing the second part of his memoir. The first part of his book, A Promised Land, was published in November 2020.

“I’m finishing the second half of my presidential memoirs. It feels like writing 50 long school essays — it just never ends. People often ask if I enjoy writing. I always say, ‘No.’ But I do enjoy the feeling once it’s done,” Obama said with a smile.

He then talked about how his job as President put a strain on his relationship with Michelle. “I was in a deep deficit with my wife,” he said. “So now, I’m trying to get back on track by doing fun things with her whenever I can.”

Barack and Michelle met in the 1980s while working at the same law firm. They got married in 1992. Over the years, Michelle has also talked openly about their challenges. In a 2022 interview, she said there were “10 years when I couldn’t stand my husband.”

There have also been gossip and rumors claiming that Obama had an affair with actress Jennifer Aniston. But there is no proof to support these claims.

Earlier this year, a well-known astrologer named Amy Tripp told India Today that the Obamas might face a rough patch. She said, “I looked at their astrology charts and saw signs of a possible separation. July or August this year could bring big changes for them.” Tripp is known for correctly predicting that Donald Trump would become President.

Despite all these talks, the Obamas have tried to show that they are still close. On Valentine’s Day, they shared a happy selfie together, which helped calm some of the rumors.

In the end, Obama made it clear that he's trying to be a better husband and enjoy more personal time now that he's no longer in office.
