Amsterdam police reported that five people were hospitalized and 62 detained after a night of violent clashes targeting Israeli soccer fans. The incident took place following a highly anticipated match involving Israeli and local teams, which led to tensions and eventual altercations in the streets near the stadium.

Witnesses described scenes of unrest as objects were thrown and physical altercations ensued between rival fan groups. Amsterdam police responded with crowd control tactics, quickly moving in to contain the violence and restore order to the affected areas. The five injured individuals, a mix of Israeli fans and bystanders, were taken to nearby hospitals, though their injuries were reported as non-life-threatening.

In light of the unrest, authorities have launched a thorough investigation to identify the main perpetrators and to understand the underlying causes. The 62 individuals detained are currently being questioned as part of the inquiry, with police pledging to take preventive measures to avoid similar incidents at future events.

The Israeli team involved in the match was reported to be safe, yet the disturbance has raised concerns about the safety of hosting large international sports events. Local officials condemned the violence and reassured the public that measures would be reinforced to secure the city’s sporting venues. Amsterdam police are also calling on witnesses to provide any additional information that could aid in the investigation. Further updates are expected as the inquiry continues.
