A heated debate unfolded inside the Bigg Boss 19 house when singer-composer Amaal Mallik and actor Gaurav Khanna confronted each other over the long-running issue of nepotism in the entertainment industry. What began as a disagreement soon escalated into an intense argument, drawing widespread public reaction—especially after Amaal referred to his own father as a “failure.”
How the Nepotism Debate Began
The conversation started when Gaurav Khanna stated that people with industry roots often receive their first opportunities more easily than those from outside. He highlighted how the initial breakthrough is where insiders hold a significant advantage.
Gaurav said, “Jahan tumhara struggle shuru hota hai, wahaan hamara aspiration hai,” pointing out the difference in starting points.
Amaal Mallik countered by insisting that his family’s journey was no different from that of any common person trying to enter the industry. He mentioned that his mother and brother had once waited outside Mehboob Studio like countless aspiring artists, claiming there was no special privilege.
Contestant Malti Chahar intervened, suggesting that while struggles differ from person to person, they should not be compared. Gaurav clarified that he respected Amaal’s hard work but was speaking specifically about access and first opportunities.
Amaal’s Controversial Comment About His Father
The discussion intensified when Amaal made a bold statement about his father, music composer Daboo Malik.
Amaal said:
“Mere papa ko kabhi Anu Malik ka support mila hi nahi. Hum reverse nepotism ke product hain. Daboo Malik was a failure, and I have no problem in admitting it.”
The comment shocked many inside and outside the house. Amaal argued that his father did not receive any support from his brother and that he and Armaan Mallik had to earn success independently. Gaurav responded by saying that having industry connections still creates easier access, such as the opportunity to meet influential figures like Salman Khan.
Viewers Strongly Criticize Amaal Mallik
Social media erupted soon after the episode aired, with users calling out Amaal for publicly labeling his father a “failure” just to prove a point. Many felt he crossed a line by disrespecting his parent on national television.
Comments ranged from calling his behavior “disrespectful” and “shallow” to accusing him of using emotional manipulation. Some users also criticized his overall conduct on the show, citing past arguments and heated moments.
One viewer posted, “Amaal insulted his own father just to win an argument. That was very disrespectful.”
Another wrote, “Amaal Mallik didn’t feel ashamed, but I felt ashamed hearing that.”
The incident has fueled larger discussions about personal boundaries, family dignity, and how far contestants should go while debating sensitive subjects on reality TV.
Amaal Mallik’s Career Journey
Amaal Mallik entered the Hindi film industry in 2014 with his compositions for Jai Ho. Although the album did not create a major impact, he later earned recognition with projects like Roy, Airlift, Ek Paheli Leela, All Is Well, and Hero. Over the years, he has built his own identity as a composer known for melody-driven tracks.
The show recently witnessed a surprise mid-week eviction, where contestant Mridul Tiwari was eliminated after receiving the lowest number of live audience votes. Earlier, Abhishek Bajaj and Neelam Giri were evicted.
