Al-Falah University Distances Itself From Doctors Linked to Faridabad Terror Case

Al-Falah University has officially distanced itself from two doctors recently detained in connection with the Faridabad terror module, reiterating that the institution has "no connection with the said persons apart from their official duties." The university described reports linking it to the case as "baseless and defamatory," emphasizing its commitment to lawful and ethical academic operations.

The Faridabad terror module came to light after authorities recovered 2,900 kg of ammonium nitrate and other inflammable materials from two rented rooms belonging to Dr. Muzammil Shakeel, a Kashmiri doctor employed at Al-Falah Medical College. Additionally, a Krinkov assault rifle and live cartridges were seized from a vehicle linked to Dr. Shaheen, another doctor affiliated with the university.

Officials investigating the case have revealed the existence of a "white-collar terror ecosystem," consisting of radicalized professionals and students with alleged connections to foreign handlers operating from Pakistan and other countries. Mohammad Umar, also employed at Al-Falah Medical College, is suspected to have planned the Red Fort blast, though he reportedly carried out the attack alone after his accomplices were arrested.

In response, Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Bhupinder Kaur Anand expressed shock and condemned the incidents. She clarified that the detained doctors were acting independently and that the university had no involvement in their activities beyond their official employment. She added that all laboratories and facilities on campus are strictly used for academic and professional training purposes and comply with safety, statutory, and ethical standards.

The university’s statement further emphasized that students remain focused on their education and that peace and normalcy must be maintained on campus. Al-Falah University reaffirmed its cooperation with investigative authorities, vowing to support the investigation fully to ensure a fair and thorough resolution.

Prof. Anand condemned the circulation of "baseless and misleading stories" online, stressing that such reports aim to malign the institution’s reputation. She also highlighted the university's long-standing record, noting that it has been educating medical professionals since 2019 and has contributed to the healthcare sector nationally and internationally.

Al-Falah University concluded by affirming its commitment to national unity, security, and the continued education of its students, urging the public and media to verify information before sharing unverified claims.
