The Department of Community Development (DCD) helped the Al Derei tribe organize a group wedding for 22 UAE nationals. The wedding took place at the Al Quaa Wedding Hall in Al Ain. Families came together to celebrate the marriage of the young couples. First, there was a men's wedding ceremony, and then the women had their ceremony.

Dr. Mona Al Mansoori, who is the Executive Director of the Medeem Initiative, congratulated the Al Derei tribe for holding this wedding and sticking to the values of the Medeem Model. She also thanked them for their commitment to starting marriages on strong and happy foundations. The women’s ceremony lasted three hours, with traditional Emirati snacks and drinks. Dr. Al Mansoori said it was a lovely occasion full of Emirati traditions.

Dr. Al Mansoori pointed out that the Medeem initiative helps raise awareness about the importance of preparing for marriage, making sure couples start their married life on a stable note. It also supports the belief that families are the key to a strong and happy society.

Dr. Hilal Saeed Al Derei, one of the organizers of the wedding, thanked the DCD for leading the Medeem initiative. He praised the program for helping young Emiratis understand the importance of marriage and how it helps build happy and stable families. He also encouraged everyone in Abu Dhabi to explore the benefits of the program. He congratulated the couples and thanked the families for joining the celebration.

Dr. Al Derei mentioned that 20 group weddings organized in the Al Quaa area have saved AED314 million. Of that, AED117.9 million was saved directly by the young couples, and AED196 million was saved by the community because of lower costs for women’s weddings. He said these group weddings bring the community together and show how important unity and support are.

The couples who got married also took part in the Medeem Center for Family Nurturing's Premarital Programme. This program helps couples learn skills and knowledge to have strong and happy marriages.

The Medeem initiative continues to encourage young Emiratis to think carefully about marriage and helps them start their married life on a good path.
