The Ajman Transport Authority has reported a 5.6% increase in taxi journeys during the first quarter of the current year, highlighting a steady rise in demand for public transport services in the emirate.
According to official data, the total number of taxi trips reached 3,322,268, compared to 3,146,769 trips during the same period last year. This marks an increase of 175,499 journeys.
Engineer Sami Ali Al Jallaf, Executive Director of the Public Transport and Licensing Corporation, stated that this growth reflects the increasing reliance on taxi services by residents and visitors. He emphasized that the sector continues to maintain high standards of safety, operational efficiency, and service quality.
Al Jallaf noted that Ajman’s taxi fleet is equipped with modern vehicles that meet high standards, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and reliable travel experience for passengers.
He also highlighted the important role taxis play in the emirate’s transport system, as they provide flexible and efficient mobility options to meet daily travel needs.
The Authority continues to focus on improving services by upgrading its fleet and adopting modern solutions. These efforts aim to enhance traffic flow and contribute to a better quality of life for people in Ajman.
