Dubai: Air India Express faced another day of operational challenges as nearly 20 flights on the UAE-India route were cancelled amidst a mass sick leave crisis gripping the budget airline. In its latest update on Thursday, the airline revealed that out of the scheduled 283 flights, a staggering 85 had to be cancelled due to staffing issues.
The list of affected flights between airports in the UAE and India includes IX 743 and IX 744 operating between Kannur and Sharjah, IX 715 and IX 716 connecting Kannur and Abu Dhabi, IX 746 from Dubai to Kannur, IX 611 and IX 612 linking Tiruchirappalli and Dubai, IX 383 and IX 384 between Mangaluru and Dubai, IX 191 and IX 192 serving Amritsar and Dubai, IX 335 and IX 336 operating between Kozhikode and Al Ain, IX 752 from Ras Al Khaimah to Kannur, IX 195 from Jaipur to Dubai, IX 173 and IX 174 connecting Surat and Dubai, and IX 531 and IX 532 between Thiruvananthapuram and Dubai.

It's important to note that the list is subject to change, as the situation remains fluid. Travel agents in the UAE reported that many affected passengers opted to reschedule their flights in light of the cancellations.
The ongoing crisis has raised concerns among travelers and industry observers regarding the airline's ability to effectively manage its operations amidst the staffing challenges. As Air India Express continues to grapple with the situation, passengers are advised to stay updated on flight statuses and consider alternative travel arrangements if necessary.
