The leadership’s vision is also mirrored in the National Olympic Committee’s efforts to foster a robust sports development model. This model not only nurtures emerging talent but also sets high standards of performance, aiming to elevate UAE athletes to the highest levels of international competition. The goal is to continually improve and achieve remarkable successes that will bring pride to the nation and showcase the UAE's growing prominence in global sports.

As the UAE prepares for the 33rd Olympic Games in Paris, Sheikh Ahmed has directed officials to ensure that UAE athletes have access to top-notch facilities and support teams throughout the event. He expressed gratitude to all national sports bodies and institutions for their role in preparing the Olympic team for the Paris 2024 Games.

Reflecting on the UAE’s Olympic journey, Sheikh Ahmed commended the efforts and accomplishments of UAE athletes over the past 40 years, since their debut in the Los Angeles Games in 1984. The determination and spirit of UAE athletes have consistently impressed on the Olympic stage, inspiring successive generations to aspire to greater heights and enhance the country's Olympic legacy.

Sheikh Ahmed praised the national sports federations for their meticulous preparation for the Paris 2024 Games. He acknowledged their strategic planning and intensified training efforts since the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, which have been crucial in ensuring athletes meet qualification standards and are in peak condition for the Games.

The Paris Olympics, marking a return to the city after a century, will feature 32 individual and team events, with 10,500 athletes from around the world competing in 329 events over 19 days. Sheikh Ahmed applauded the UAE’s preparation for these Games and highlighted the UAE Olympic House initiative, which aims to celebrate Emirati heritage and culture during the global event. This initiative represents a unique opportunity to showcase the UAE's national pride and the noble values of its leaders and people.

In addition, Sheikh Ahmed acknowledged the essential roles played by UAE police personnel deployed across various locations in Paris. Their presence underscores global confidence in the UAE’s capability to host major events successfully. He expressed appreciation for the efforts of UAE sports and public entities in supporting the national contingent, emphasizing the importance of national representation and the collective duty to uphold the UAE’s honor.

Sheikh Ahmed also encouraged the UAE delegation to provide athletes with all necessary resources and support, drawing inspiration from past Olympic successes such as Sheikh Ahmed bin Hasher Al Maktoum’s gold medal in double trap shooting at Athens 2004 and Sergiu Toma’s bronze medal in judo at Rio 2016.

The UAE team for the Paris Olympics comprises 14 athletes and 24 support staff, including administrators, technicians, and therapists. Athletes will compete in five disciplines: equestrian, judo, cycling, swimming, and athletics. The equestrian team includes Abdullah Al Marri, Omar Al Marzooqi, Ali Al Kirbi, and Salem Al Suwaidi. The judo team features five male and one female athlete: Narmand Bayan, Talal Shveili, Aram Grigorian, Dhafir Aram, Omar Marouf, and Besharat Khoroudi.

Cyclist Safiya Al Sayegh will make history as the first Emirati cyclist to qualify for the Olympics. Swimmers Yousuf Rashid Al Matrooshi, Maha Abdullah Al Shehi, and Mariam Mohammed Al Farsi will compete in various swimming events.

The opening ceremony of the Games will take place on Friday evening along the River Seine, a departure from the traditional stadium setting. The UAE flag will be carried by Omar Al Marzouqi and Safiya Al Sayegh. The ceremony will feature 94 boats transporting 10,500 athletes along a 6-kilometer route, lasting approximately 3 hours and 45 minutes.
