Three weeks after a strong earthquake hit Myanmar, many areas still don’t have basic services like clean water, electricity, and healthcare. Emergency workers are still trying to help, but they face problems like constant aftershocks and a lack of resources, according to reports from aid groups.

The earthquake happened on March 28, and the hardest-hit area was near Mandalay, Myanmar's second-largest city. The earthquake caused a lot of damage across six regions, including the capital city, Naypyitaw. Because of the earthquake and ongoing conflict in Myanmar, many people have lost their homes and need help.

A report says that 3,726 people have died from the earthquake, and 5,105 people were hurt. Another 129 people are still missing. Rescue teams, including 1,975 workers from 25 countries, helped save 653 people and recover 753 bodies from the rubble.

A lot of buildings were destroyed, including 65,000 homes, 2,500 schools, 4,300 monasteries, 6,000 temples, 350 hospitals, 170 bridges, and many parts of the main highway.

Myanmar's fire department has been helping rescue workers clear debris and find important items like jewelry and money that were buried under the rubble. In Mandalay, rescuers also found two bodies under collapsed buildings.

Three weeks after the earthquake, the main focus of rescue teams is to clear debris and help the survivors. However, fewer people are being rescued each day. The number of international rescue teams has decreased since they have finished searching for survivors. Local workers are now mostly helping clear debris and assist people in need.

The United Nations says that about 2.5 million tons of debris need to be removed. They estimated this by using satellite images.

In Naypyitaw, most of the rescue work has stopped, and the government buildings that were damaged are still not repaired. People in the city have cleared most of the debris from their homes on their own.

A report said that Myanmar’s military leader, General Min Aung Hlaing, talked about changing the layout of Naypyitaw. The city, built in 2006 to be the capital, was planned with big government buildings and large, empty roads.
