ADNOC and e& have jointly announced an ambitious initiative to construct the largest private 5G wireless network in the energy industry, covering an extensive 11,000 square kilometers. This groundbreaking project aims to revolutionize ADNOC's operations both onshore and offshore by providing robust high-bandwidth connectivity.

The implementation of this advanced 5G network is poised to significantly enhance ADNOC's capabilities in integrating cutting-edge artificial intelligence solutions across its remote facilities. This integration promises substantial benefits, including cost reduction through automation, improved operational efficiency, minimized emissions, and heightened safety measures for its workforce.

Scheduled for completion by 2025, the project is projected to generate an impressive $1.5 billion (AED 5.5 billion) in value within its initial five years of operation.

Commenting on this transformative venture, His Excellency Dr Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and ADNOC Managing Director and Group CEO, expressed, "This landmark collaboration with e& marks a pivotal milestone in ADNOC's journey to emerge as the world's leading AI-enabled energy company. With global demand escalating for energy and AI solutions, our strategic investment in state-of-the-art connectivity across our operations ensures our steadfast commitment to delivering secure, reliable, and sustainable energy to our customers."

This initiative is pivotal in future-proofing our business while prioritizing the safety of our personnel and environment."

Echoing these sentiments, His Excellency Jassem Mohamed Bu Ataba Alzaabi, Chairman of e&, highlighted, "Our collaboration with ADNOC represents a pivotal step towards establishing a cutting-edge private 5G network, underscoring our dedication to leveraging technology for sustainable and intelligent transformation in the energy sector."

He added, "Connectivity serves as the backbone for technological advancements, and through our expertise in network and AI innovations, we aim to drive breakthroughs in energy efficiency while fostering progress across various industries. Beyond this partnership, we are committed to setting new industry benchmarks and redefining possibilities in collaboration with ADNOC and other major players."

Upon completion, the 5G network will facilitate real-time data transmission from over 12,000 wells and pipelines equipped with sensors to autonomous control rooms. This capability will enable prompt decision-making to enhance asset lifespan and ensure operational safety in the field. Additionally, the digitalization of wellheads and comprehensive operational oversight promised by the network will drive productivity gains across ADNOC's entire value chain.

This initiative builds upon ADNOC's longstanding strategy to pioneer and deploy cutting-edge technologies. The deployment of this 5G network forms an integral part of a comprehensive multi-year program aimed at accelerating the adoption of AI solutions throughout ADNOC's operations, reinforcing its ambition to lead as the world's most AI-enabled energy company.
