AD Ports Group and Smart Systems Council to Launch UAE's First Trial Vertiport

The Advanced Mobility Hub (AMH), a subsidiary of Multi Level Group, is making significant strides in promoting sustainable transportation in the UAE. Recently, AMH conducted its first self-driving test at the Abu Dhabi Cruise Terminal located in Port Zayed, part of the AD Ports Group. This initiative has been made possible with the backing of the Smart and Autonomous Systems Council, and marks the launch of the first trial vertiport in the UAE, further underscoring the emirate's commitment to innovative transport solutions.

The cooperation agreement signed between AMH and the AD Ports Group is a pivotal step in creating an operational environment for autonomous transportation. This initiative aligns with Abu Dhabi's ambitious plans to modernize its transportation sector by integrating smart transportation systems, ground stations, and autonomous driving technologies. By doing so, the emirate is not only enhancing its local infrastructure but also working towards its long-term objective of exporting advanced technological solutions, including self-driving drones.

The initiative is designed to attract cutting-edge technologies and establish an integrated ecosystem to foster technological advancements. Once the necessary approvals and operational procedures are finalized, the platform will be ready to offer a range of services tailored to the needs of its users.

This project follows the successful completion of all regulatory approvals and requirements from relevant authorities, positioning it as a cornerstone for developing advanced mobility solutions. The focus will be on creating infrastructure capable of supporting sustainable transportation methods, utilizing electric vertical takeoff and landing (E-VTOL) aircraft and autonomous vehicles. These aircraft will have the capacity to accommodate between two to five passengers, in addition to providing logistics services for both heavy and light cargo.

Mohamed Salah, the CEO of Multi Level Group, emphasized the significance of this project, stating, "This initiative is a critical component in supporting a smart and sustainable transportation system, as well as ground stations. It aims to enhance the experience of cruise passengers and boost tourism activities in the UAE by offering air tours of the emirate's attractions. This effort will contribute to increasing the number of tourist nights and facilitate additional sustainable, eco-friendly activities."
