Abu Dhabi Police have issued a reminder to all vehicle drivers emphasizing the importance of fully stopping when the side arm (stop sign) of school buses is extended in both directions. This measure is crucial to ensure the safe crossing of students. Drivers are urged to maintain a distance of no less than five meters from the school bus when the stop sign is displayed.
The police underscored that failure to comply with this regulation will result in a fine of 1000 AED and 10 traffic points being applied to the driver's record. This strict enforcement aims to prioritize student safety and prevent accidents involving school buses.

In addition to highlighting the consequences of disregarding the stop signal on school buses, Abu Dhabi Police encouraged drivers to take advantage of the "Act Early and Benefit" program for the prompt settlement of traffic violations. This initiative aligns with their strategic priority to enhance community happiness and proactive service quality.
Under this program, drivers can benefit from a 35% discount on the violation if paid within the first 60 days from the violation date (except for dangerous violations). A 25% discount is also available for payments made after 60 days up to one year from the violation date.
Furthermore, drivers have the option to utilize installment plans for settling violations through banks with zero interest for a period of 12 months. This service is available for credit cards issued by banks and financial institutions contracted with the Abu Dhabi Police General Command.
To facilitate payment processes and better serve the public, payments can be made through the official Abu Dhabi government platform, TAMM, or directly at service centers. This streamlined approach aims to encourage compliance with traffic regulations and promote road safety across the emirate.
