Sheikh Khaled said that supporting medical research and healthcare innovation is very important for the future of the country. The government is committed to helping new healthcare projects grow using the latest technologies to improve everyone’s health and quality of life.

The HELM cluster was launched during the Abu Dhabi Global Health Week 2025. It will be a place where new ideas can be turned into real solutions for health problems. This includes the research, development, and making of new medicines, medical devices, and digital health solutions. The cluster will focus on improving the way medicines are made and bringing in companies that specialize in new medical technologies. The goal is to make big improvements in preventing diseases, making drugs work better, and helping people live longer and healthier lives.

Ahmed Jasim Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, explained that the HELM cluster is a big step in Abu Dhabi’s plan to grow its economy. It will provide businesses from around the world with access to the latest technology, top-quality facilities, and good rules that help companies grow. This will not only help the economy grow but also keep Abu Dhabi at the front of the world when it comes to new medical technology.

Mansoor Ibrahim Al Mansoori, Chairman of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, said that the HELM cluster is a bold move for healthcare. He said it’s more than just building new places; it’s about investing in new ideas that will change how we think about health and help people around the world. This project will bring change that will benefit many people.

The HELM cluster is also expected to help Abu Dhabi’s economy grow. It is expected to add over AED94 billion to the economy, bring in more than AED42 billion in investment, and create about 30,000 new jobs by 2045.

Badr Al-Olama, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), called the HELM cluster a game-changer for the life sciences industry. He said that it will help speed up new breakthroughs and make it easier for new ideas to grow into things that can help people around the world. With great facilities, research powered by technology, and helpful rules, the cluster will give life sciences companies a big advantage. He also said that this isn’t just about healthcare; it’s about investing in the future and giving innovators the help they need to change medicine.

The HELM cluster is the third one in a series of projects designed to make Abu Dhabi a leader in industries of the future. It follows the launch of the Smart and Autonomous Vehicle Industries (SAVI) cluster in 2023, which works on new ways for vehicles to move, and the AgriFood Growth and Water Abundance (AGWA) cluster in 2024, which focuses on finding solutions for food and water problems. These projects show that Abu Dhabi is becoming a major hub for new ideas and industries.

With the HELM cluster, Abu Dhabi is showing its commitment to improving healthcare and creating new ways to help people live healthier lives. By bringing together the latest medical research and technology, Abu Dhabi is changing how healthcare works and offering solutions to health problems both locally and around the world.
