Abu Dhabi Approves AED42B Liveability Expansion

Abu Dhabi, 29 September 2025 – His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, has approved a AED42 billion expansion of the emirate’s Liveability Strategy to further enhance quality of life for Emirati families.

The initiative aims to develop community services and improve infrastructure across residential areas, ensuring seamless access to essential facilities in line with the highest standards. His Highness emphasized that citizens’ wellbeing remains a top priority for the government, strengthening social cohesion and supporting the UAE’s development goals.

The expansion builds on the first phase of the strategy, which achieved an average neighbourhood integration of 81% in 2025, up from 67% in 2023. Key projects completed include more than 200 parks and sports courts, 24 schools, 21 mosques, 28 community majlises, nearly 120 km of walking paths, 283 km of cycling tracks, and around 220 km of new street lighting alongside 200 beautification projects.

The meeting also highlighted efforts to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) across government operations, boosting efficiency and improving community services. His Highness was briefed on the Abu Dhabi Government Digital Strategy 2025-2027, backed by AED13 billion in investment, which aims to make Abu Dhabi the world’s top-ranked AI-powered government by 2027.

Preparations are underway to launch TAMM 4.0 at GITEX Global 2025. The upgraded digital platform will provide smart, AI-driven government services that anticipate the needs of individuals and businesses. The government also plans to introduce AI Majalis to raise public awareness on responsible AI use and create open dialogue spaces.

The Department of Government Enablement reported that over 95% of Abu Dhabi government employees have completed comprehensive AI training. New Chief Digital and AI Officer roles will be established across all government entities to drive AI adoption, governance, and innovation.

His Highness directed the acceleration of residential infrastructure projects to further enhance services and quality of life for citizens and residents across the emirate.
