Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler's Representative in Al Dhafra Region, a new falcon badge will be introduced at the 21st Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX). The badge, unveiled by ADNEC Group in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Falconers Club, is set to enhance the competition and participation in falconry at this year’s event, which will run from August 31 to September 8, 2024, at the ADNEC Centre in Abu Dhabi.
The new badge will qualify falcons purchased at the exhibition, as well as those involved in associated auctions and events, to compete in specialized race rounds under the supervision of the Abu Dhabi Falconers Club. These races will feature four categories: Gyr Pure, Gyr Qarmousha, Gyr Shaheen, and Taba, and will be part of the President's Cup Falcon Competition for 2024-2025.

He expressed confidence that this move would significantly boost participation at ADIHEX, improving both the quantity and quality of competitors.
Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Managing Director and Group CEO of ADNEC Group, highlighted that the introduction of the badge reflects the leadership’s commitment to advancing the falconry sector in the UAE. “This initiative aims to preserve and enhance the heritage and competitiveness of falconry, both regionally and internationally. By encouraging high-quality bird participation and stimulating visitor interest, the badge will bolster the role of ADIHEX in promoting this traditional sport.”
Sultan Al Mahmoud, Executive Director at Abu Dhabi Falconers Club, expressed pride in the strategic partnership with the Emirates Falconers Club and ADNEC Group. “We are confident that this badge will enhance the competitiveness and global reputation of the exhibition, benefiting producers, experts, and enthusiasts alike.” Al Mahmoud also assured that the teams would work diligently to ensure the success of future badge rounds, contributing to the promotion and significance of falconry.
This initiative marks a significant step in enhancing the falconry sector and underscores Abu Dhabi's ongoing commitment to preserving and celebrating its rich cultural heritage.
