People of Determination Compete in Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Event

Abu Dhabi celebrated a remarkable sporting day for People of Determination on Thursday as Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Chairman of the UAE Sailing and Modern Rowing Federation, crowned the winners of the People of Determination Marine Sports Festival. The event highlighted the UAE’s dedication to providing opportunities for all athletes to participate and excel in competitive sports.

The festival was organised by the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club in cooperation with Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination and supported by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council. The collaboration between these organisations ensured a smooth and inclusive event, providing a platform for athletes to showcase their talent in marine sports.

The festival featured sailing and kayak rowing competitions. Athletes of determination impressed the audience with their skill, perseverance, and determination. Over 50 participants took part in the event, demonstrating a high level of commitment and sportsmanship. Each competitor showcased their abilities, making the event a true celebration of talent and resilience.

The awarding ceremony was attended by Ahmed Salem Al Shamsi, Director of Abu Dhabi Club for People of Determination; Rashid Al Falahi, Director of Support Services at Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club; and Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Director of Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Academy. Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan personally congratulated the winners, recognising their hard work and dedication.

Khalifa Al Suwaidi emphasised that organising the festival reflects the UAE’s strong commitment to supporting People of Determination. He highlighted that creating an inclusive sports environment allows athletes to display their talents and motivates them to achieve higher goals. The festival is part of ongoing efforts to integrate People of Determination into various sports activities across the country.

The festival also focused on skill development. Specialized programs in marine sports were offered to participants, helping them enhance their techniques and encouraging creativity in competitive settings. The initiative aims to strengthen the presence of People of Determination in national and international sports arenas.
