This summer, Abu Dhabi is once again helping people stay active while avoiding the extreme heat. The Abu Dhabi Summer Sports Festival is back at the ADNEC Centre, giving everyone a chance to enjoy a wide range of sports and fitness activities in a cool, air-conditioned indoor space.

The event is open daily from 6 am to 1 am and will continue until August 21. Organized by ADNEC Group in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, this is the fourth and biggest edition of the event.

This year, the indoor area has grown by 10%, now covering 37,500 square meters. The running track has also been upgraded, now featuring four lanes and stretching up to 1.2 kilometers, giving runners more room to move comfortably.

Participants can enjoy 12 main sports, including football, basketball, padel, running, badminton, volleyball, tennis, table tennis, cricket, and chess. There’s also a large fitness zone and a challenging obstacle course. In total, there are 52 courts and tracks, all built to top-quality standards.

For the first time, the event will include the HYROX indoor fitness race, happening on July 19. This special race is designed for people who love working out and want to test their strength and endurance.

New this year is the Club Zone, which includes exciting strength and combat sports like weightlifting, archery, judo, Muay Thai, and boxing. The festival also offers summer camps for kids, combining sports, art, and crafts, to keep them busy and happy during the holidays. Over 50 community events will be held throughout the eight weeks, welcoming people of all ages.

Aref Hamad Al Awani, Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, said this event gives the community a great way to stay fit during the summer in a safe and cool place. Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, CEO of ADNEC Group, added that the event supports the country’s goal to promote health and wellness, especially during the Year of the Community.

The event also features yoga, meditation, recovery zones, and special fitness sessions. These activities are great for people looking to relax or even for companies interested in team-building events. Families can also enjoy kids' games and entertainment zones during their visit.

To make everything simple, a mobile app and website have been created where people can check the schedule and book their spots easily. The best part? Free parking is available for everyone who attends.

So, if you're in Abu Dhabi this summer and want to stay active without suffering in the sun, the Abu Dhabi Summer Sports Festival is the perfect place for you
