The center will use a special type of science called multi-omics. This science looks at different small parts of the body, like genes, proteins, and other tiny molecules. By studying all these parts together, scientists can learn more about how diseases work and find better ways to help people stay healthy.

The goal of the center is to help doctors give the best treatments to cancer patients and to help scientists find new medicines. It will also bring doctors and researchers from different countries together to share ideas and learn from each other.

The agreement to open the center was signed in front of several important leaders, including H.E. Mansoor Al Mansoori, Chairman of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, H.E. Ahmed Jasim Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Department of Economic Development, Sir Jonathan Symonds, Chairman of GSK, H.E. Dr. Noura Al Ghaithi, Undersecretary at DoH, H.E. Badr Al-Olama, Director General of ADIO, and Dr. Hesham A. Abdullah, who is in charge of cancer research at GSK.

Dr. Noura Al Ghaithi said that Abu Dhabi wants to become one of the best places in the world for healthcare. She explained that this new research center will bring in new ideas and help people live healthier lives. It will also make Abu Dhabi a top place for science and health research.

H.E. Badr Al-Olama said that the new center will help Abu Dhabi become a leader in health and science. The research center will bring new ideas and treatments to Abu Dhabi, which will help people all over the world.

Dr. Hesham Abdullah from GSK mentioned that this agreement will help scientists study diseases faster and find new treatments for cancer. He also said that this will help cancer patients in the UAE and around the world.

The new research center will also give young scientists a chance to work on their ideas and make a difference in medicine. This will help improve healthcare for everyone.

The announcement of this new research center happened during Abu Dhabi Global Health Week, a big health event held by the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi. This year’s theme is “Towards Longevity: Redefining Health and Well-being,” which focuses on helping people live longer, healthier lives with better planning and early care.

The event covers four main ideas: helping people live long and healthy lives, making health systems stronger, using technology in healthcare, and getting more investment into life sciences. The event brings together people from all over the world and helps Abu Dhabi lead in making a better future for healthcare.
