During the meeting, they talked about how the UAE and Brazil have worked together over the years, especially in areas like business, investment, clean energy, and protecting the environment. They also celebrated 50 years of good relations between the two countries, showing how their partnership has grown stronger with time.
His Highness Sheikh Khaled brought greetings from His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and sent best wishes for Brazil’s success and progress. President Lula da Silva sent his greetings back to the UAE leader and wished the UAE and its people more success and happiness.
The two leaders also talked about their shared ideas and hopes for the future, agreeing on the need to make their teamwork even better. They discussed new plans and projects to help both countries grow in a fair and lasting way. His Highness Sheikh Khaled promised the UAE would keep working with Brazil to create a bright future for both nations.
The leaders were present to sign the agreements. One agreement set up a plan to bring more UAE investments to important industries in Brazil. Another agreement focused on UAE and Brazil working together to support projects in Africa. These agreements were signed by ministers from both sides.
They also spoke about customs teams in Abu Dhabi and Brazil joining hands to make trade easier. They praised the new digital trade system, which will make trading between the two nations faster and simpler.
President Lula da Silva thanked the UAE for its help in planting 10,000 palm trees in Bahia, Brazil, as part of a project to share farming skills. He also appreciated the UAE’s support for Brazil’s plans in the G20, such as fighting hunger and saving rainforests.
His Highness Sheikh Khaled will lead the UAE’s team at the G20 meeting in Rio de Janeiro on November 18-19, 2024. This visit follows an invitation from President Lula da Silva to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, to join the event.
