The Emergencies, Crises, and Disasters Management Centre Abu Dhabi (ADCMC) has started the fourth group of the Alternative National Service Program. This group has 118 young people sent to work in 11 government offices in Abu Dhabi. The program helps keep important services running during emergencies, crises, or disasters. It gives recruits the skills they need to do their jobs well in tough times. This work is done with the UAE Ministry of Defence and the National Service and Reserve Authority, along with ADCMC.

The program makes government offices stronger and ready for challenges. Now, 18 government offices, including ADCMC, are part of the program. ADCMC also welcomed its first 20 recruits, which is an important step to make Abu Dhabi prepared for any emergencies.

This group brings the total recruits in the program to 260. The goal is to include 30 government offices by 2025. The first group started in March 2023 with 86 recruits working in 3 offices. The second group came in September 2023 with 15 recruits in 2 offices. The third group joined in February 2024 with 41 recruits in 5 offices.

ADCMC is in charge of this program. It picks which offices need help, assigns recruits to jobs, and checks how well they are doing. The recruits also join training and practice sessions to stay ready.

His Excellency Matar Al Nuaimi, Director-General of ADCMC, said, “This step is part of Abu Dhabi’s plan to keep services running, even during emergencies. It is also about building a strong future. Over the next four years, we will bring in more recruits to reach our goals.”

ADCMC also helps offices create systems to keep working in hard times. They make sure all rules are followed and guide offices on how to use recruits in the best way.

Matar Al Nuaimi said the recruits give offices more workers and skills, helping them work better and respond faster during emergencies.

Brigadier Hamad Khalifa Al Neyadi, from the National Service and Reserve Authority, praised ADCMC for using recruits well. He said this program helps offices use the talents and skills of young UAE Nationals, especially in technical and special jobs.

Recruits are given important jobs in departments like Operations, Planning, Risk Checking, and Cybersecurity. Their jobs are carefully planned, and they take part in regular training to make sure they are ready to handle real challenges.

After their training, recruits must take a two-week refresher course every year. After six months of work, ADCMC checks their progress with the offices they work for.

On December 18 and 19, 2024, ADCMC will hold an event called the Resilience Forum. This event will bring leaders, experts, and offices together to talk about how the program helps keep services running. The forum will also honor offices and partners who supported the program. This program is an important step in making Abu Dhabi ready for emergencies, crises, and disasters.
