This initiative coincides with World Food Safety Day, observed annually on June 7. ADAFSA's theme, "Be Prepared for the Unexpected," underscores its ongoing mission to ensure food safety and promote awareness regarding proper food handling practices.
ADAFSA remains committed to providing safe and healthy food for the community through effective regulatory systems and comprehensive awareness programs based on international best practices.
Utilizing smart inspection systems, ADAFSA has facilitated over 490,000 inspection visits since its inception. Additionally, the Zadna Rating application, introduced to share food establishment assessment results, has garnered participation from over 9,000 establishments, contributing to a significant increase in compliance rates.
ADAFSA's efforts extend to the Unified Control Project, the first of its kind in the Middle East, aimed at enhancing regulatory efforts across the emirate. The authority also conducts extensive training courses in food safety to empower its staff and strengthen cooperation with local and international partners.
Recognizing its excellence in innovation, ADAFSA received the World Summit on the Information Society award for its Food Imports and Exports Platform. This unified portal streamlines import and export procedures, contributing to efficient food trade operations.
Overall, ADAFSA remains dedicated to fostering a culture of food safety, leveraging technology and collaboration to ensure consumers in Abu Dhabi have access to safe and nutritious food.
