A 5.2 magnitude earthquake shook the inner part of San Diego County, California, on Monday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).

The earthquake happened deep underground, at a depth of about 13.4 kilometers (or 8.3 miles). That’s roughly as deep as 150 football fields stacked end to end.

People across a big part of San Diego County felt the shaking. It wasn’t just there — the earthquake was also felt in Orange County and Los Angeles County, which are north of San Diego.
