A well-known nutritionist from Mumbai, Prachi Mandholia, who has more than 16 years of experience, has shared five important superfoods that can help people stay healthy during the winter season. She explained that winter brings cold winds, cozy clothes, and tasty seasonal dishes, but it also brings health problems like cough, cold, and tiredness. According to her, the best way to stay strong in winter is to choose the right foods that are easily available in our kitchens.

Prachi said that winters can feel comforting, but many people fall sick because the body becomes weaker in cold weather. To avoid this, eating seasonal and local foods is very important. She said that these five superfoods can help improve immunity, boost energy, support digestion, and even make the skin look brighter.

She explained that mustard greens, also known as sarson, help build strength and warm the body from inside. They are often used in winter dishes and provide important nutrients that support the immune system. Bajra, a popular grain used in rotis, helps keep the body warm and gives long-lasting energy, which makes it great for cold days.

Carrots are another important food for winter. They are rich in vitamins that help improve eyesight and give the skin a natural glow. Many people enjoy carrots in salads, soups, or even in the popular Indian sweet gajar ka halwa, which is widely eaten during the cold months.

Sesame seeds, known as til, are also a powerful winter food. They help improve digestion and give extra energy. People often use sesame in laddus, chikkis, and many homemade snacks during winter. These seeds also help keep the body warm and support overall health.

The last superfood on Prachi’s list is oranges. These juicy fruits are full of vitamin C, which helps fight infections, protects from cold and cough, and keeps the skin fresh. Eating one orange every day can improve immunity and provide important nutrients needed in winter.

Prachi said that winter does not have to be a season of sickness or low energy. With the right foods, everyone can stay active, healthy, and happy even in the coldest months. She encouraged people to include mustard greens, bajra, carrots, sesame seeds, and oranges in their daily meals. She added that these foods are easy to find, affordable, and good for the whole family.

She also said that our kitchen can act like a small pharmacy during winter if we choose the right ingredients. Seasonal foods are naturally made to support the body during different weather conditions, and winter foods are especially good for immunity and warmth.

By making simple changes in our daily diet and choosing these natural superfoods, people can stay strong and protected throughout the winter season.
