The 4th Al Sila Marine Festival will take place from December 4 to 8, 2024, at Al Sila Beach in Al Dhafra, Abu Dhabi. The festival is under the support of Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan and is organized by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority and the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club.
The festival will last for five days and will have 57 different competitions. There will be races, sports events, and beach games. The total prize money is more than AED 4 million. Some of the big events include the Al Sila 43-ft Dhow Race, the Barakah Traditional Sailboat Race, and the Al Sila Sheri Fishing Contest. There will also be running, cycling races, beach volleyball, beach football, and falconry competitions. People of all ages can enjoy traditional games and fun activities.

A special market will be set up where local people will sell handmade products and traditional foods. You can also find stalls from sponsors and a relaxing place called the Noukhada Majlis (Captain’s Majlis). There will also be folk art shows and other performances to entertain the visitors.
This festival is all about celebrating the UAE’s traditions, especially its strong connection to the sea and traditional sports. The event is also a chance to promote the coastal cities and islands of the UAE and encourage tourism in the Al Dhafra region. It’s a great way for everyone to have fun, learn about the culture, and enjoy the history of the UAE.
