45 Beggars Nabbed in Ajman During First Week of Ramadan

During the initial week of Ramadan, Ajman's law enforcement took firm action, arresting 45 individuals engaged in begging as part of their annual drive to combat this issue in the emirate.

This year's campaign saw a concerted effort involving cooperation from citizens, residents, and various institutions across the country to curb the presence of beggars.

To ensure the efficacy of the campaign, authorities bolstered security measures by deploying a dedicated search team tasked with monitoring and tracking down beggars. Surveillance was intensified in areas frequented by beggars, including commercial markets, residential neighborhoods, mosques, and banks.

Ajman boasts numerous charitable associations aimed at assisting the less fortunate, the needy, and the ill. Police advise individuals genuinely in need to refrain from begging to avoid facing penalties. Instead, they are encouraged to utilize available resources. These resources include various institutions, associations, and charitable organizations established to facilitate organized donations. Additionally, a dedicated telephone hotline (067034309) has been set up to enable the public to report instances of begging to the authorities.

Through these concerted efforts, Ajman endeavors to maintain the sanctity of Ramadan while upholding its commitment to supporting those in need through legitimate channels, fostering a community that thrives on compassion and solidarity.
