Aurora Expeditions has revealed its extensive lineup of 2025-26 Antarctica expeditions, featuring sailings aboard its upcoming vessel, the Douglas Mawson. As an added incentive, the cruise operator is extending discounts of up to 25% on selected voyages for a limited period. Headquartered in Australia and recently designated as a certified B Corporation, Aurora Expeditions plans to offer a total of 32 expeditions to the Antarctic region next year, utilizing three dedicated expedition ships: the Greg Mortimer, the Sylvia Earle, and the forthcoming Douglas Mawson.
Prospective travelers will have a diverse range of itineraries to choose from, including established favorites like the "Antarctic Explorer" and "Spirit of Antarctica," which navigate through the Antarctic Peninsula. In addition to these well-known routes, the cruise line introduces eight new itineraries for the upcoming season, promising exploration of East Antarctica, the Ross Sea, the New Zealand Subantarctic Islands, and a circumnavigation of Tasmania.

For those seeking an alternative to sea travel through the challenging Drake Passage, Aurora Expeditions offers opportunities to fly directly to Antarctica, bypassing the maritime journey. Hayley Peacock-Gower, the Chief Marketing Officer of Aurora Expeditions, expresses excitement about the forthcoming season, highlighting the debut of the Douglas Mawson and the expanded exploration of diverse Antarctic regions.
Further enhancing accessibility, Aurora Expeditions introduces two new departure ports: Hobart, Australia, and Dunedin, New Zealand. Additionally, the cruise line presents two voyages inclusive of all activities such as snowshoeing, camping, snorkeling, and paddling. Particularly noteworthy is the provision of 36 single berths on the new Douglas Mawson, catering to solo travelers keen on experiencing Antarctica.
Peacock-Gower underscores the significance of reconnecting with Aurora Expeditions' founding ethos by offering departures from Australia and New Zealand after a 13-year hiatus. This initiative not only aligns with the company's heritage but also opens up lesser-explored Antarctic regions to both local and international adventurers.
