London: A 12-year-old boy has confessed to throwing a missile at a police van amid the chaos of far-right inspired riots in northern England, following a tragic knife attack that claimed the lives of three young girls. The boy, who cannot be identified due to his age, appeared in a Manchester court on Monday and pleaded guilty to two charges of violent disorder.
District Judge Joanne Hirst noted that the boy’s involvement in the violence was unprecedented among both adults and children brought before her court. "He had been more involved in the violence than any other accused person I have seen coming through these courts," Hirst remarked.

The riots erupted after misinformation about the alleged perpetrator of a mass stabbing on July 29, which occurred at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class, fueled unrest across several English towns and cities. The boy was part of a group that assembled outside a Manchester hotel housing asylum seekers two days after the stabbing.
The court has remanded the boy into local authority custody, and he is scheduled to be sentenced on September 2. The riots, which have been attributed to far-right extremists, resulted in widespread violence and disorder, reflecting rising tensions and misinformation.
