Bernie Littman, 100 years old, and Marjorie Fiterman, 102 years old, have made history by becoming the world’s oldest newlyweds. Together, their ages add up to an amazing 202 years and 271 days. This record was officially confirmed by Guinness World Records on December 3. Their story has touched many hearts and shows that love can happen at any age.
The couple lives in Philadelphia and met nine years ago at a senior living home where they both stay. Their first meeting happened during a costume party on their floor. Bernie and Marjorie became friends quickly, and over time, their friendship turned into love. After spending several happy years together, they decided to get married on May 19. Their wedding took place at the same senior living home where their beautiful journey began.
Both Bernie and Marjorie had long and happy marriages with their first spouses. Bernie was married for more than 60 years, and so was Marjorie, before they both lost their partners. Interestingly, they both went to the University of Pennsylvania when they were younger, but they never met during that time. Bernie worked as an engineer, while Marjorie chose a career in teaching. It wasn’t until much later in life that fate brought them together.

Their wedding was a joyful event attended by family and friends. Four generations of Bernie’s family were there to celebrate this special day. The ceremony was held under a Jewish chuppah, a traditional wedding canopy. Bernie and Marjorie arrived in their wheelchairs, both smiling and full of happiness. Rabbi Adam Wohlberg, who led the ceremony, shared how much he loved their story. He said, “These days, most couples meet on dating apps, but Bernie and Marjorie met in the best way—they lived in the same building, got to know each other, and fell in love.”
Their story has brought joy to people everywhere. Bernie’s granddaughter, Sarah Sicherman, shared their special day online. She wrote, “Today, my 100-year-old grandfather married his 102-year-old girlfriend! Their story is a reminder that love and happiness can happen at any age.”
Bernie and Marjorie love spending time together. They enjoy sharing meals, taking part in activities at the senior home, and even acting in plays. Bernie believes his long life is because of his love for reading and learning new things. Marjorie, on the other hand, says her secret to living a long life is buttermilk.
Their story is more than just a record; it’s a message to everyone. Bernie and Marjorie have shown that age is no limit to finding love and happiness. Their journey is inspiring and reminds us that it’s never too late to start a new chapter in life.
