He explained that the UAE is committed to creating a modern housing ecosystem that meets the needs of citizens quickly and efficiently. The goal is to provide homes that are not only high in quality but also delivered within record timeframes. This approach reflects a deeply rooted national vision where the welfare of citizens is always a priority.
Leadership Focus on Housing
H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid emphasized the personal attention and care that H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan dedicates to the housing sector. The UAE President has long believed that providing dignified housing is essential for enhancing community well-being. His guidance ensures that every citizen has access to a home that meets modern standards, promoting a sense of pride, stability, and belonging within society.
Sheikh Mohammed also mentioned that the housing ecosystem is under continuous development and monitoring. The government works tirelessly to ensure that every citizen can benefit from modern housing solutions, whether through grants, loans, or other supportive measures. This ongoing priority demonstrates the UAE’s dedication to maintaining a forward-looking housing program.
The Zayed Housing Programme: Achievements in 2025
The Zayed Housing Programme plays a central role in achieving these housing goals. From January to the end of the third quarter of 2025, the programme issued a total of 2,971 housing approvals, amounting to AED 2,069,200,000. These approvals reflect a significant effort to provide Emiratis with homes that meet their needs and expectations.
Here’s a breakdown of these approvals:
Grants under UAE President directives: 522 approvals worth AED 355 million
Government housing loans: 595 approvals totaling AED 246.2 million
Government housing grants/benefits: 24 approvals worth AED 19 million
Housing finance approvals: 1,830 approvals totaling AED 1.449 billion
These numbers highlight the comprehensive nature of the programme. It does not just provide direct grants but also supports citizens through loans, finance options, and other benefits, ensuring flexibility and accessibility for all families.
Long-Term Progress Since 2022
The Zayed Housing Programme has made remarkable progress over the past three years. From July 2022 until September 2025, a total of 11,298 housing approvals were issued, with a combined value approaching AED 9 billion. This demonstrates the UAE’s ongoing dedication to creating a strong and sustainable housing infrastructure for its citizens.
These approvals show that the UAE is not only focusing on quantity but also on quality. Every housing project is planned and executed with modern standards in mind, ensuring that citizens can enjoy safe, comfortable, and well-equipped homes.
The Importance of a Comprehensive Housing Ecosystem
The UAE’s housing strategy is more than just providing homes. It involves creating a comprehensive ecosystem that includes financial support, planning, quality control, and timely delivery. This system ensures that no citizen is left behind and that every family has access to a home that suits their needs.
By continuously monitoring the housing sector, the government can make adjustments and improvements wherever necessary. This proactive approach guarantees that housing solutions remain relevant, modern, and effective.
How Housing Strengthens Society
Providing citizens with quality housing has a broader impact on society. Safe and comfortable homes contribute to family stability, which in turn promotes social cohesion and community development. When citizens feel secure in their homes, they can focus on education, work, and personal growth, creating a more productive and harmonious society.
Moreover, the housing initiatives under the Zayed Housing Programme reflect the UAE’s long-term vision. By investing in housing today, the government is building the foundations for a stronger and more resilient society tomorrow.
The UAE’s housing initiatives, led by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and under the guidance of H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, represent a clear commitment to citizen welfare. Through the Zayed Housing Programme, the country has issued thousands of approvals, totaling billions of dirhams, providing Emiratis with modern, dignified, and high-quality homes.
This ongoing dedication to housing demonstrates the UAE’s vision of a society where every citizen has access to a home that ensures stability, happiness, and social well-being. By focusing on comprehensive housing solutions, the UAE continues to set a global example of how governments can prioritize citizen welfare while promoting national growth and development.
