The smartphone world is buzzing with excitement as Apple prepares to introduce its brand-new iPhone 17 series. The global launch is scheduled for September 9, 2025, during the highly awaited Apple Awe-Dropping event, which will take place at 10:30 PM IST.
For those eager to be the first owners of the iPhone 17, pre-orders will begin on September 12, and sales in India are expected to start from September 19. This new lineup will include four different models:
* iPhone 17
* iPhone 17 Pro
* iPhone 17 Pro Max
* iPhone 17 Air (the thinnest iPhone ever)
All of these will come with Apple’s most powerful A19 Bionic chip and the latest iOS 26 operating system.
What’s New in iPhone 17?
The iPhone 17 is expected to introduce some impressive upgrades. According to experts, the phones will feature:
* Ultra-thin designs for a lighter and more stylish look
* Improved cameras with a periscope zoom lens for sharper long-distance shots
* Stronger AI features for smarter performance
* Pricing in India may start around ₹79,900 for the basic model and go up to ₹1.64 lakh for the Pro Max version.

The Big iPhone 16 Price Drop
While the world looks forward to the iPhone 17, the current iPhone 16 is becoming an attractive deal. Originally launched in September 2024, the iPhone 16 came with advanced features like:
* Action Button for quick shortcuts
* Camera Control toggle
* A18 chip, which was 30% faster than the iPhone 15
Now, the iPhone 16 is available on Flipkart with discounts of over ₹10,000. The base model, which started at ₹79,900, can now be bought for around ₹69,999. On top of that, banks are offering cashback and EMI options, making it even more affordable.
For example:
* iPhone 16E 512GB is available at ₹79,999 (down from ₹89,900)
* iPhone 16 Plus is available at ₹80,499 (down from ₹89,900)
* iPhone 16E (SE 4) 128GB is available at ₹52,499 (down from ₹59,900)
This makes the iPhone 16 a strong option for those who want premium Apple technology without spending too much.
Which One Should You Buy?
This is the big question many buyers in India are asking: Should you wait for the iPhone 17 or grab the iPhone 16 deal?
* If you are someone who always wants the latest technology, the iPhone 17 is worth waiting for.
* But if you are looking for value for money, the discounted iPhone 16 is still a powerful device that can last for years.
Why This Matters for Indian Buyers
India is one of Apple’s fastest-growing markets, and the pricing of these models plays a huge role in consumer choices. While many young tech lovers may wait for the iPhone 17, a large number of buyers will see the iPhone 16 discounts as the smarter option.
This makes the coming weeks very important for smartphone shoppers in India. With pre-orders for iPhone 17 starting September 12, the decision time is almost here.
